Win a Trip to London from Visit Britain

This Friday I’ll be reviewing the film, “The Young Victoria”,  which is due for release on DVD April 20th.

I’ll also be offering you a chance to win my copy of the DVD.

In the meantime, you might want to busy yourselves with entering

Visit Britain’s Royal Romance Sweepstakes.

The prize?

A trip for two to London, including airfare, four nights in the five star Athenaeum Hotel,  passes to Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace and a spot of afternoon tea.

Cripes, I would enter for the tea alone but the rooms at the Athenaeum are amazing!

The deadline for entering is June 30th, but no time like the present is there? Enter now.

Hello! I’ve enjoyed receiving intermittent comments from you. You know I am the greatest Anglophile.
My Bob used to take me to London every summer, for sixteen trips. Yes, 16. I loved London and Bob did, too. At first he wasn’t too excited about it, after all there were no baseball games to be found. And he wasn’t crazy about museums, things like that. well, he used to find new museums we had never been to. We had a wonderful time. I do oil paintings and before the advent of the computer, used to do certificates and such in all sorts of fonts. Bob found the exhibit on Calligraphy before I did. He died four years ago and I miss him and I miss my trips with him. He was a Professor Emeritus in electrical engineering at Rutgers Univ. State Univ.of New Jersey..USA ….He truly loved his work. We kept up our trips to the UK and while there we also went on to tours around Europe. We spoke just English so tours were a must.
I look for your messages and hope to see more. And next spring I will be back in London, looking for museums exhibits, plays, busses to places like Oxford and Hampton Court Palace.
It is not as much fun, doing things without my Bob. The only thing he wasn’t crazy about was the 4 hour boat ride up the river to Hampton Court…….so I agreed to a train ride back to London and dinner.
Cheers, Mary in New Hampshire, USA0
