Win a Copy of Fortnum & Mason: Honey and Preserves

December 28, 2012

Savory meets sweet with a British flair in Fortnum & Mason: Honey and Preserves, a recipe book from the gourmands behind the world famous Fortnum & Mason store, first opened in Piccadilly in 1707. Ranging from teatime snacks to sumptuous main course and decadent desserts, the more than 50 recipes featured include Pan-Fried Scallops with Honey, Soy and Chili, Mustard Pastry Bites and Marmalade Pudding with Whisky Custard.

Honouring the store’s centuries-old commitment to purveying only the finest quality foods, Fortnum & Mason begins with a concise history of preserving and includes endearing anecdotes which explain how the store came to have a colony of bees built on its rooftop. Along with 40 gorgeous color photos of the dishes, this slim cookbook also include images of the remarkable rooftop apiary where the bees live in grand pagodas, embellished with finials and triumphal arches.

Proving that there’s more to jam than slathering it on toast, and that honey can sweeten treats other than a cup of tea, Fortnum & Mason offers myriad deletable ways to get the most out of every jar.
