It was three years ago when I first introduced you to Michael Harling, author of Postards from Across the Pond, More Postcards from Across the Pond and Postcards from Ireland. An American expat living in England since 2002, Mike’s books are an interesting and funny look at an American acclimating to a different culture.
Now Mike is venturing into the world of fiction with his new book Finding Rachel Davenport. Ten years in England have given Mike the confidence to write a book with British characters, living in Britain and doing British things.
His protagonist is Rachel, a young woman who works in a travel agency by day, but is a self-styled crime-fighter by night. This is not a fantasy novel, however; the antics Rachel gets up to and the trouble she soon finds herself in are grounded in the real world. Although her aim is to operate anonymously, her first mission goes horribly awry and she finds herself pursued by the media, the police and an assortment of criminals who want her silenced. And so she spends the rest of the book dodging bad guys and nosey neighbours while trying to hold onto her job and juggling two would be suitors.
Now Mike has kindly offered to give one of my U.S. readers a signed copy of his new book, Finding Rachel Davenport.
Here’s how to enter:
1. You must be a U.S. resident.
2. You must leave a comment with your email address.
