Near Dumfries in south west Scotland there is a magical place called the Garden of Cosmic Speculation. Located on 30 acres of land, this sculpture garden is the brain child of landscape architect and theorist Charles Jencks. Jencks’s home, Portrack House is at the heart of the gardens that includes sculptures and landscaping features based on mathematics and science.
Unfortunately for us, the gardens are only open to the public one day a year, in May. Partial proceeds from tickets sales go to benefit a cancer charity in honour of Jencks’s wife Maggie.
