Today the London Underground turns 150 years old. There have been a lot of articles published this week about its history so instead of regurgitating that information in this post I thought I would just do a “best of” list for you to enjoy.
One of my favourite items from the birthday celebrations was this Google graphic.

When I lived and worked in London my favourite tube station was Covent Garden. It is deep underground and no room for escalators, so there is a lift to get up and down from the street.
I used to busk with my guitar in the stations around Leicester square as a student, to earn extra money, but you had to be nimble to avoid detection by staff!
