Guest Post: Favorite London Markets for Clothing
The following is a guest post from Debi Lloyd.
London has some of the best markets in the world and here are two of my favorite markets for buying clothing.
Greenwich Market
Soon, the world will know all about the Greenwich Market, as it’s so close to where the Olympics will be held.
The outdoor market is where everything from fruit and veg to used clothing, to vintage clothing will be found.
Once you have found your one off vintage outfit, most of them well under £50.00, you will need to accessorize. You won’t have to traipse all over London! Just continue walking thru the market, and you will find just the right things!
Vintage shoes can be found at Greenwich market as well!
There are 3 different areas of the market…
There are 2, yes 2!, outdoor markets…One is off the High Street, just next to the Cinema…Ask anyone in Greenwich, they will be able to show you where to go…The other other is just across from the Ritz…
The indoor market has even more clothing alongside a food court, craft items, and some very interesting shops with something for everyone!
Do yourself a favor, this is not to be missed!!!

SE8
Your next stop is a bit off the beaten path…
SE8 is where you will find the second hand market…It’s been moved from it’s Giffin Square site to just around the corner in front of the Albany.
The second hand market has everything from vintage clothing, used clothing, shoes, jewellery, to books, and furniture
This is not a place to be missed! All prices are reasonable
If you are after more specific items, see Chris Carey’s Collections on Finch Street, it’s a huge clothing recycling operation, and clothing is sold there too
The Albany is open for coffee and food, so when you need a break from all that shopping, why not enjoy a cuppa?
If you progress down Deptford High Street, there are many more stalls to explore.
Deptford is a multicultural area, the stalls reflect this from the food that is sold to the clothing, and spices on display

Thanks for the post Debi. Ive never been to the SE8 markets in London. Wish I had a chance to shop the markets with you in Deptford! xo
