Oh I do love David Mitchell and his, as Stephen Fry put it, “angry logic”! He has such a comedic way with words, he never fails to make me laugh out loud. Thanks for sharing

Love It! The “I could care less” bothers me as well. Hadn’t given the “Hold down the fort” a thought. Although I’m certain I use “Hold the fort”

That was hilarious. Sounded a bit like a conversation that would take place in my house between me (American) and my husband and children (British).

He is a hoot. I could not understand the ‘I could care less’ expression. This makes no sense to me. I had no idea Americans say that – okay. I am also with him on ‘hold the fort’ as opposed to ‘hold down the fort’.
As for the rest American is far superior to English because sidewalk makes more sense, trunk makes more sense and what is with theatre, centre, colour and so on. Oh, so you are speaking French now?
I am sure he was playing on that bit at the close of his skit because English is far more French than American with all this ‘re and ‘ou’ business.
Oh, I like the little worm crawling along the bookcase part way through.
