Christmas Traditions #3 – Top of the Pops
For forty-two years, Top Of The Pops was the U.K.’s answer to American Bandstand. We all know how AB ended and sadly TOTP went the same way in 2006 after music downloading and stations like MTV made weekly chart shows irrelevant. However, the Christmas specials remain and this year the line up will include Lily Allen, Florence and the Machine, La Roux, and Dizzee Rascal. There are rumours that Muse will make an appearance as well. Two different specials will be airing, one on Christmas Day and a second on New Year’s Eve.
