I Heard You
A few weeks ago I asked you for input on the future of this blog. You had some wonderful comments and ideas and I took them all to heart. Some of the suggestions included guest bloggers, British and American alike, and I’ve been lucky enough to find some lovely people who are more than willing to accommodate. So in the coming weeks and months you’ll start to see some new faces around here and I hope you give them all a warm welcome. The list is still growing but in the mean time I want to introduce you to some of the featured bloggers to come:
Toni Hargis is known to many as Expat Mum and hers is one of the very first blogs I read when I was new to the blogosphere and figuring out what all this blogging stuff was about. She is also the author of Rules, Britannia and a wonderful writer. Toni is from the north east of England and will be contributing to the Back to Basics series on English accents and dialects.
Gail Hall is one of the first bloggers I ever followed. Her writing style drew me in as she so exquisitely described the sights and sounds of day to day life in England. Gail is from the “west country” and she will also be contributing to the series on regional accents and dialects. She blogs at A Curious Girl’s Guide to Life.
I put a call out for guest bloggers and Claire Curran bravely stepped up to the plate and I’m so glad for it. She lives in south east England and has been blogging for a while now at The Life of the Twenty Something Mum. Tomorrow you’ll read her post about the accents and dialects in her region and she’ll introduce you to a very special person you may or may not have heard of. Hint: think “Little Britain”. I can’t wait for you to read it, she’s hysterical.
A couple of my followers told me that they are engaged to a British man and will soon be moving to the U.K. So I asked from friends of mine to guest blog and discuss life with a bloke.
I met Marci Gower on Twitter. Originally from New York, she now lives in Florida with her husband from Birmingham. Like moi, she is a lifelong Britophile, and according to her, we have so much in common it’s like she’s my sister from another mother! Talking to Marci has been a hoot and I know she has a lot to say and will certainly keep you entertained. I can’t wait to hear about life with a Brummie.
Denise from Uniquely Tea is married to an Englishman as well and they used to live in England but now reside in the States. Denise is one of my very first and dearest online friends. She embodies the saying “A friend in tea is a friend indeed!” (Yeah, I made that up.) Denise was one of the very first bloggers I read and her disciplined blogging approach has always impressed me. If there is something you want to know about tea, she’s your girl. If there is something you want to know about tea in London, she’s your expert. Just check out her business, the Tea in London Tours, which I think is a fantastic concept – I’m just jealous that I didn’t think of it myself. She has a new tour coming up next year and is currently taking reservations. I can’t say that I have experienced it first hand but a Tea in London Tour is certainly on my to do list. In the meantime, I’ll just have to be satisfied with her musing on life with her knight in shining armor.
A very warm welcome to all my guest bloggers and thank you.
