Blogger Bling
On Tuesday, Kat from 3 Bedroom Bungalow reached her first blogoversary, an impressive feat when you consider how many abandoned blogs are out there. I think you have to be a blogger yourself to appreciate how much work and dedication it involves. (Even when we aren’t blogging most of us are probably thinking about it. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve caught myself thinking about things in terms of whether or not it would make a good blog post.) So I thought it would be fun to give Kat a blog award for her dedication and clever posts, which never fail to make me laugh.
(Besides, she has my cat’s long lost twin brother and I need to pay the ransom.)
Sam (Kat’s hostage)
My boy Duncan.
But being a young blogger myself, I didn’t have many awards to pass along, until today that is (thanks Katie), and none that conveyed the proper sentiment, so I made my own.
I like this button; it’s sweet and fun, but very feminine which poses a problem should you want to award a guy.
So I made this one too.
No doubt, this is my favorite because it fits the theme of my blog nicely, yet provides an alternative for Kat ( who ironically admitted just today that she doesn’t quite understand the British obsession with tea).
And because everything comes in threes, I made this one too, which I think is really cute.
So here’s the plan:
Since these are new awards, I’m taking the liberty of giving them out to as many bloggers as I like, just to get the ball rolling. That said, it takes nothing away from these bloggers whom I would want to recognize anyway.
(To be fair, I’m only giving these out to blogs I have not awarded before.)
These awards are for bloggers who inspire, whether through laughter, grace or just darn good writing. I read these blogs consistently and they continuously inspire me to be a better blogger.
So without further adieu, I bequeath these awards to the following blogs:
The Ladies
Kat from 3 Bedroom Bungalow
Lisa from AngloAddict
Maureen from A View From England
BritFancy
The Duchess from Rose Tea Cottage
The Blokes
Mike Harling from Postcards from Across the Pond
My Bruv at Confessions of a Jammie Dodger
Dave from A Diary of Dagenham Dave
Ian from Single Parent Dad
Denis (& non-bloke Frances) from England Rents, Rants, and Raves
Now for the rules:
1. Pick your award button, whichever you like.
2. Post about the award and link back to my blog.
3. Pass along to five bloggers of your choice.
It will be interesting to see which button is the most popular.
Congratulations everyone! You deserve it!

Aww, how sweet are you?! I shall wear the Union Jack badge proudly. Tea is great and all, but the Union Jack is so bad ass!

Tell me about it I tend to give up after a while….shut up shop and go open a different one. I think I get bored easily. The blogs I have now are the longest I've ever had a blog – although most of them are replacements for other blogs.
And about that British obesssion with tea – I'm afraid I really don't get it either….and I live here!
I'm a coffee addict….can you tell?!

Melissa darling, I am truly touched, this is so kind of you. I already have followed your rules and picked up my teacup (of course) I was between the Union Jack and the teacup, I love them both, but ultimately the teacup called my name. Thank you darling so much, you made me very happy.

Thanks and passed along! You're now a part of Dear So and So.

Adori- I guess I don't find the obsession with tea any different than the American obsession with coffee. My father drinks it all day long.

Thanks so much for the great award! I'll have to go with the Union Jack also. I'll get up the post today! Cheers and Ta!

Wow – I'm so flattered and pleased to be honoured with an award from you, Melissa. Thank you very much! (Now I feel guilty because I haven't blogged much lately).
I picked the teacup since I LOVE tea. Thanks again!

Oh and I meant to say…I used to have a kitten named Clarence and he loved to get into the dryer too!
I don't have him anymore sadly because the older he got the worse my allergies became…

The "your blog is bloody brilliant" is marvellous, very British. And I am drinking tea as we speak

You are too cool. Can I have one too?

Melissa darling! First, must say we thought that was the same cat… Anyway… Prodigal Wife and I are doubly honoured to receive your lovely award–and a choice yet! Now, I may surprise you but I am man enough to pick the charming teacup! As you know, Cockney rhyming slang for tea is 'rosie lea' so a teacup filled with lovely roses seems quite a propos. And of course, all Englishmen eventually come out of the closet or the woodshed, and I have chosen the garden so, again, your floral motif is perfect.
Cheers awfully,
Denis
PS: I was quite touched to see my little book on your shelf, sweet of you (hope you like it!).

Your blog awards are smashing!
I'm not really into the English thing; however, I did teach British lit for five years.
And I loved it.
Visiting from SITS.
Have a great week!
Sweet dreams.

A year of blogging really is a big deal. Blogging can be a very intensive (addictive and fun, too) hobby!

That is so cool how your created those awards. I can't believe how much time blogging takes. And yes I think about it constently as to what I am going to write about next. Most of the time my ideas come naturally but it's always on my mind.
Being new to this whole blogging world, I didn't realize the commitment. I need to stay committed because my followers are counting on me.

As a Briton myself I must say I really do enjoy your blog. It's nice to see an Anglophile from foreign lands.
My favourite of the badges has to be the flag one (no.2).
Off now to have a look at the blogs you have mentioned.
Cheerio!
